Businesses report cutting jobs due to ObamaCare

Businesses are cutting jobs due to ObamaCare, according to surveys by several regional Federal Reserve Banks.

Health economist John Goodman noted that "three Federal Reserve Banks in Philadelphia, New York and Atlanta have surveyed the folks in their area and roughly one fifth of the employers are saying they cut back on employment.

“Roughly one fifth are saying they're moving from full time to part time,” Goodman added. “More than one in ten are saying they're doing more outsourcing - all this because of the new health care reform."

The new “49ers” and “29ers”. Thanks to ACA / Obamacare.

49ers - Companies won’t hire more than 49 employees

29ers - People who work 29 hours per week.

Every single time, it should be mentioned DEMS OWN IT.

The REAL fascist part of this whole thing is when the gov’t was REQUIRING businesses to sign an affidavit saying they weren’t making staffing decisions based on the ACA.

So, do you lie in the affidavit or get punished for not lying?

This on top of the extremely diminished workforce participation.

Predictable and PLANNED.
Requiring businesses to hire more employees regardless of the number of hours worked leads to lower unemployment numbers when you couple that with a lower participation rate. (Transportation industry’s Hours of Service requirements is also in there)
We’re practically like France.

I can’t wait until their is an (R) president, when immediately and in unison, the media will begin screaming about how horrible the economy is. Kinda like the “Bush Recession” which began 2 months before he was even selected the (R) nominee

Remember the June unemployment numbers? 800,000 new part time jobs offsetting a loss of 525,000 full time jobs for a net gain of 275,000 jobs.

And BLS.gov seems to be getting very good at obscuring full time vs part time. I did a cursory look after the August numbers came out and couldn’t find where the two were broken out.

re. 800,000 new part time jobs offsetting a loss of 525,000 full time jobs for a net gain of 275,000 jobs.

Do they just do a raw number comparison and treat part time jobs as the equivalent of full time?

Assuming a full time job is the typical 40 hour week, and the business needs to cover the same amount of hours, if each new part time job is 29 hours the 800,000 part time jobs would be the equivalent of (800,000 * (29 / 40)) 580,000 full time jobs, a net gain of 55,000 jobs.

If the average new part time job is 20 hours a week, you have the equivalent of 400,000 full time jobs, a net loss of 125,000.

I was going to bring this up, but couldn't find the thread that first talked about it!
