What's next, Mika? Giant alligators in the sewers of New York City? On today's Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski perpetuated the hoary urban legend that domestic violence spikes on Super Bowl Sunday.
Brzezinski's blunder came in the context of the panel's discussion of the NFL's domestic violence mess. Arguing that football is a violent game and that "there's a connection" with what happens at home, Mika continued, "domestic violence on Super Bowl Sunday. We've seen the numbers. Why is that?" Actually, Brzezinski has apparently not seen the numbers, since that myth has been thoroughly debunked, often by organizations fighting domestic violence, as here, here and here.

What’s next, Mika: giant alligators in the sewers of New York City? Ping to Today show list.
From that publicity shot, Mika exhibits all of the negative stereotypes about women in professional positions.
Unless that IS her professional position.
The only people who give a damn what she says is Newsbusters. If it wasn’t for them nobody would even know who the hell she is.
Only homers and degenerate gamblers are emotionally affected by the outcome.
Plus, most people watch the Superbowl in a party atmosphere, either entertaining guests at their house or as guests at someone else's house.
What does she cover the cheerleaders?
Mica, shut up and get me a beer.
Rush will have a field day with this!
It’s hard for me to associate a football game with violence. It’s a tough game where people may or may not get hurt and they are covered in protective gear. Violence to me is rape, someone coming after me with a knife or a gun and using it or getting beat up on purpose. Real violence is not a game. The libs are really trying hard to get rid of football anyway they can. They act like we are watching episodes of people actually beating people with their fists instead of a game. It’s just ridiculous.
There are no victims on the field they all choose to be there.
What 'Republican' Is Helping Sell the Wendy Davis Abortion Barbie Book As An 'Inspirational Story'?
Im a Republican
but I can still love the book and be moved by an inspirational story. Joe Scarborough
...never at a loss for material with these clowns.
I bet MSNBC is chief demographic is inside the beltway underworld.
It is ridiculous.
The left perpetuates the stereotype of beer swilling wife beater NFL fan.
I think they need a panel of men to regulate what goes on at The View.
Yep...and the refs and commish seem to be going along! Unreal and unwatchable IMO!
Bless her heart, Liberals are so cute when they try to act like grown ups who actually know something.
