I am a believer but I have purchased his book and it is on my nook reader now. As I sometimes witness to a group of folks who may be skeptics I look forward to finding the right words to assure them of Gods salvation plan.

DAVID: Absolutely. Very thoroughly, in my humble opinion. And is Christ really God? I had difficulty with the deity of Jesus Christ, until I studied the Book of John where He unequivocally claimed that He was the great "I am," the name for Jehovah. Before Abraham was born, "I am." Not I was. Not I existed in the past 2,000 years ago. Before Abraham was born 2,000 years ago, I was, "I am," meaning eternal existence.
Clearly He was claiming to be God using that term, the term that Jehovah, the Old Testament Jehovah used and self-identified Himself, and He was stoned, or attempted to be stoned as a result. So there was no doubt that he claimed to be God. But coming to study these things and overcoming these doubts really did a great deal toward tipping me toward the faith. The lawyers, the experts in the law got a lot of things wrong, but on this point their understanding was amazingly spot on? Those picking up the stones were... wrong. Some doctrines don't hold to the slightest scrutiny but give 'em a couple thousand years and millions of books and voila!

No, the pharisees were still wrong. Not because they misunderstood his claim, but because they didn’t believe it. They knew He was making Messianic claims too, but they didn’t believe those either. Their problem wasn’t their brain, it was their heart. The evidence in Scripture is abundant that Jesus was and is God the Son. Furthermore, even in the immediate post-apostolic era, there is evidence Jesus was worshipped as God. So the basic fact of His deity has nothing to do with an evolution over time. It was there from the beginning.

So glad to see Rush doing this, nepotism notwithstanding. I pray that it plants a mustard seed in his heart first!
