Cue the 2016 speculations: The former president and CEO of Ford Motors isnt ruling out a presidential run. Speaking at a radio industry conference in Indianapolis Thursday, former Ford head Alan Mulally kept his options open when he was asked whether hed consider running for president, ABC News reported.

With all of you as my witness, he did not say no, ABCs Dan Harris said to the audience.
If Mulally runs, would he run as a Democrat or a Republican?
Thats hard to say.
According to the political contribution tracker on opensecrets.org, Mulally has donated thousands of dollars over the years to both Democratic and Republican political candidates.
Business leaders often tilt conservative and Mulally is no stranger to market-driven capitalism, but Mulally has also praised the government bailouts of the auto industry.
The 68-year-old business legend remains, it seems, an enigmatic presidential possibility and not much more at this point.
Was that a “comprehensive” yes or no. Why does that word connote so much political nonsense?
It’s a “common sense” dodge.
Big bump.
Just on general principle.
Wow.
If you don’t know whether he’s a Democrat or a Republican then he’s a Republican.
I thought there for a minute McCain was running again. Or Lynsey Graham.
Well he has as much military experience as our current president had.
The last car exec to run for President was George Romney. And we all look back fondly on his presidency...
Exactly. He’s going to run as a Joe Manchin type Dem or a RINO. Either way, his loyalty will be to the Crony Capitalist party.
He can be the Republican candidate and Alec Baldwin can be the Democrat. It’s all just a box of socks anyway.
—his loyalty will be to the Crony Capitalist party.
I can think of worse...
Ford has a HUGH loyalty following
Think of all those F-150 pickups out there
And the national revulsion over the automaker bailouts
I’m not sure.
I am quite enthused by this bit of news.
Color me old fashioned if you like, but I don’t think a person’s FIRST entry into elective office should be the office of the presidency. And this respectfully applies to folks such as Dr. Carson and Herman Cain as well.
I’m sorry if the guy ran Ford Motor company, he can run our government.
For real.
One day I’d like a consumer/taxpayer to be elected president.
I have no issue with the man deciding to enter elective office. It’s probably a good idea.
But must he start with the very top job?
Last I checked, Michigan still has two Dem US Senators.
Why not go after one of those seats first, get elected, then we can have a voting record we could use to determine what kind of president he would make?
I am of the opposite view.
He has an EXCELLENT record with Ford.
I can think of nobody better. Not one person.
Not even Sarah Palin. Nobody. I am 100% for this guy.
Bug difference, Mulally not only made peace with the UAW, he got them to take the retiree health care off the table and in their hands with the “VEBA” and the company is a success story. Romney had horrible relations with the UAW was a caretaker of a company that eventually failed....
Well....that was my problem with Steve Forbes.
I thought he would have made a good president.
But I also thought he should have been a governor or a US Senator first to establish a track record of public service.
Even RR had to first serve as governor of CA before most people would even consider him as POTUS.
