A lot of Scots in Canada speak French as their first language and they see themselves as part of the Quebec nation. Federalism works.
A divorce never works out well. Either for a family or a nation. Ties are not easily dissolved and one should try less drastic measures before calling it quits.
That hasn’t been tried yet in Scotland. Independence may be biting off more than most Scots want to chew. Plenty of sober reflection and stock-taking should accompany a decision of that magnitude.
Yeah, look what it did for those two countries back on July 4, 1776.
