Then there is this..... many of the founding fathers of Texas were from Tennessee and of Scottish Heritage
If Texas leaves, then I would not be surprised to see other states in the Midwest and South to follow and reform under some sort of new union.
I think the Feds may have miscalculated by leaving the borders wide open. After all how can we be sovereign without borders?
“Then there is this..... many of the founding fathers of Texas were from Tennessee and of Scottish Heritage”
Absolutely, during my genealogical background research I found descendants on my Scottish grampa’s side who came to Texas from Tennessee by way of Arkansas. They stole some horses and had to leave Tennessee rather quickly if you know what I mean. Anyway, they got to Texas and brought some fine horses with them. See, we aren’t all descended from Kings and nobles.
Early Texas, somewhat like Australia, offered opportunities to start new lives. Maybe, that’s why Texas was known as the “friendly” state for so may years. As long as you minded your own business, everybody stayed friendly. Even today as much as Obama would like to mind our business, we still believe we can do it better ourselves.
Many are still coming to Texas for new opportunities due to our robust economy and somewhat “throwback” society. Hopefully, they are coming in the spirit of which Texas was founded, not to turn Texas blue. We are not as progressive as the blue states, things move in different directions, and the pace is a little slower in Texas. I think that’s part of our success. Rule 1: If you are coming to Texas, be sure you are coming to change YOUR lifestyle, not ours. Otherwise, Texans may not be so friendly toward you.
No, we are not ready to secede from the Union yet. But, we are keeping a watchful eye. There may come a time we have no choices if we want to remain free and independent of the liberalism and socialism that is enveloping America. When that time comes, we will be prepared.
