The trade pact was originally to enter into force on 1 November, but following meetings between European Commission trade chief Karel De Gucht, Ukraine’s foreign minister, and Russia’s economy minister in Brussels on Friday (12 September) it will now be implemented on 31 December 2015.

DoughtyOne, I replied in another thread linked above. If you see my post then it seems Europe is actually giving things to Ukraine while also giving Putin a way to back off without losing his face among Russians.

Europe is now giving Ukraine privileged access to their market while not demanding Ukraine to give Europe the access to Ukrainian market.

To me this seems EU supporting Ukraine while giving Putin an honorable way out.

When it comes to economy then USA and Europe with the allies like Japan, Canada and Australia are insanely powerful compared to Russia. Sadly we are using our power rather sparingly.
