Yes. My people there in Ukraine say that they all thought they would go to Moscow or St. Petersburg. Instead they all got sent to places like Chelyabinsk in Siberia.

My people consider condign reward for leaving Ukraine for Russia.

We can only hope!

When a partnership consist of two lying thieves, what are the chances of “honor among thieves”? IMHO, zero.

You can’t put a million people in a couple of cities. Chelyabinsk is not that bad a place as well. It is not Siberia but South Ural not that far from Kazakhstan. Weather is pretty mild, they even have a camel as a city symbol.

Everything I have read about that place tells me it is not a garden spot. I’ll take the lower steppe of Ukraine instead.

True. But Chelyabinsk has jobs and Ukrainian steppe isn’t.

Sounds like the tour operator, Southern Cross, did not pay the hotel(s) for the guests’ stay. So the hotels evicted the tourists and grabbed their baggage as payment. The tourists cannot leave until their scheduled flights depart.
