Four sources close to Ray Rice have told ESPN [link at URL] that the former Ravens running back acknowledged to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell during the league's investigation that he punched Janay Rice in an Atlantic city elevator, knocking her unconscious.
If that is the case, it would seem to contradict Goodell's statement to CBS this week that Rice's account of the February assault in the Revel casino to investigators was 'ambiguous'.
"Ray didn't lie to the commissioner," one of the sources said on ESPN's "outside the Lines." "He told the full truth to Goodell - he made it clear he had hit her, and he told Goodell he was sorry and that it wouldn't happen again."
Another source told ESPN "There was no ambiguity about what happened."

Another shoe falls?
Gee....I can hardly wait for "Pink October."
OMG!! Goodell is getting denial strategy from obama
The NFL is more worried about protecting quarterbacks.
How can NFL commissioner Roger Goodell be PC in all this?
If he comes down too hard on the black football player - he will get a Ferguson.
If he comes down too light on the domestic wife beater - he will be part of the war on women...
What to do, what to do...
Maybe if he was gay...
Somewhere, Pete Rozelle is weeping....not just about this, but about the pussification of his beloved NFL.

This is some of what Rush said today (I’ll put the link at the bottom). My reaction to what Rush says is “right on, right on!”

It’s no longer about great athletes. It’s no longer about amazing athletic achievement and drama.
It’s now become about guns and gays and domestic violence. These are the topics that we are all going to be lectured on all season long. A press conference for a practice squad signee in Dallas because he’s gay? The never-ending refrain on the Washington Redskins name, and now this? Guns, gays, domestic violence, these are topics that I frankly don’t be need to be preached to about. I don’t need to be lectured, and I certainly don’t want to turn on a football game and end up being accused of all kinds of social misbehavior.

Maybe Pretty Boy is ?
You know what, Mr. Goodell? Let me infuse some reality into this “scandal,” if you don’t mind. You’ve been pulling-in, what, $44M/year for how many years? Just go. In a few months, no one will remember your name, and you’ll be taking your private jet from La Jolla to Aspen for the weekend.
Can Rush not see that the NF) is able to have a great football league where men can go out on the field and give it their all, come off of the field and treats their wives/girlfriends well, and yet the NFL also have a zero tolerance policy when men step over the line?
Surely Rush can see that they can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time.
Rush sometimes relies too much on either/or thinking instead of both/and thinking...
As I just said, is the NFL not able to have a football league where men can go out and give it their all, and when they step off the field still treat their wives/girlfriends well, and the NFL still have a zero tolerance policy for players that step over the line?
Surely they, and the players that play, can all walk and chew bubble gum at the same time, right?
Oops... NFL.
Goodell seems to be the last guy to realize his day is done
Didn’t Hillary say that in the past about Monica...
I wonder if Obama got it from her.
I’m guessing Goodell is a Republican. Because, while no fan, I find it amazing how the media is now on a feeding frenzy against the guy who actually never cold cocked his wife in an elevator.
Imagine if they ever covered the IRS scandal like they are about a TMZ video of guy beating his girlfriend.
So long Rog. We hardly knew ye.
That’s what happens when you let lawyers run things.
(Pete Rozelle was an English major and a P.R. man)
So when Roger gets the boot, maybe he can move in with Mike $cam and Vito
Is he a conservative Republican or a RINO? LOL.
While what you say can hold true sometimes with the media and when, how and with whom it tends to react to, I don’t think that is the case now.
The media loves to engage in instances where they believe power and hypocrisy are at work, given that they have reported how Goodell is “the enforcer” in the NFL.
If “the enforcer” isn’t enforcing ethics and morality upon himself, it would be no small wonder why the media is going after this as hard as they are.
If Goodell wasn’t “the enforcer” then I imagine this would already be over with.
