A CIA spokesman says a new intelligence assessment estimates that the Islamic State group can muster between 20,000 and 31,500 fighters across Iraq and Syria, up from a previous figure of 10,000.
The new assessment is based on a review of intelligence reports from May to August. It is larger than the 20,000 figure being used by many outside experts.

The CIA is definitely pissed at the CIC for his throwing them under the bus recently. They are a bad bunch of dudes to get that way as they can, if they feel like it, kill you.

Actually, all the “experts” I’ve seen lately have estimated 30,000 to 40,000.
Sheeesh, they have 4 times the military manpower of New Zealand and recruitment is INCREASING.
This is a freaking army alright.

And that is, not counting our many domestic jihadis, born and unborn, that we will have to content with in the future.
Now if we can get them all in one place, alone, at one time...

Has anyone considered how these True Believers manage to feed themselves, over the long term? Expansion, feeding off the enemy, seems to be both their tactic and strategy.
