So much stupidity here, it hurts.
Mz. Marzec might have taken a moment to remember that, as President of the Student Senate, she’s supposed to be representing everyone’s interests, not just her own.
Ms. Marzec also might take a moment and realize that “student government” at most universities is generally little more than a club for the BMOC types and the egregiously self-important (like Marzec). You can’t make the university do anything, really. You might make other students miserable with your nonsense, but you aren’t changing anything of import on campus or in the middle east.
I did some checking with other stories, and it does appear that Marzec has gotten threatened by a few kooks. Passions run high on this issue, particularly when Marzec did such an inflammatory video. Still, that sort of response is wrong and idiotic, too. Assuming none of them were faked, which is possible.
As for the kids arrested...I think it was darned if they did, darned if they don’t. They did indeed disrupt the meeting, and in better circumstances, should have used different methods. But I seriously doubt they would have gotten the chance to speak had they played by Mizz Marzec’s rules. Few arenas are more stifling to actual vigorous debate than college campuses. Especially when it is a group’s leader being called on her BS.
I’d lay money that doofus ranting about the pro-Israel folks at the end is trying very hard to get into Marzec’s pants.
BTW, here’s the original video that set everything in motion. Not sure what Marzec is majoring in, but judging from the poor lighting and worse sound, it’s not anything related to T-Com or audio engineering.
