Romney Rides To Rescue For Roberts In Tight Kansas Senate Race (Good Lord!)

As part of the growing GOP effort to save Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS), Mitt Romney is now making robocalls on the incumbent senator's behalf.

The Associated Press reported that Romney's recorded call would reach 400,000 Kansas residents this week. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee calls Roberts, who faces a stiff re-election challenge from independent candidate Greg Orman after Democratic nominee Chad Taylor dropped out of the race last week, a trusted conservative and says that he is needed to block the Democratic agenda, according to the AP.

See, it happened again. Those crazy Tea Party zealots made the GOP nominate a weak, unelectable candidate rather than the established, electable moderate and now everyone is scrambling to save the seat . . . . . .

That’s like sending in a 90 pound weakling to help someone who is outnumbered 3 to 1.

Worthless!

Hey folks, the campaign of the other side must be taken into account.
In the general election, Romney WON Kansas.
And in our most recent primary, Milton Wolf LOST because he had way too much baggage and was not TRUSTED as a true “conservative”.

Now? Orman is Fake and a Fraud pretending to be “Independent” after giving tens of thousands to the Democrat Party and candidates. He says we need to “end partisanship”.

We need EVERYONE to back Pat Roberts.

Saying “My candidate is not allowed to accept support from people I do not like” -—

IS STUPID AND POLITICAL SUICIDE!

Besides which? The Romney message is spot on! A direct attack against Obama.

The last person I would want stumping for me in a Conservative Christian area would be a pretend Republican 2-time POTUS loser who supports both Abortion and the Gay Agenda.

Apparently, this guy Orman has some skeletons in his closet. Some shady deals with Boxing Gear Company and some so called charity issues. He’s just another phoney rich guy trying to capture Tea Party label when in reality, he isn’t even close to Tea Party values.

Pat Roberts has the Pro Life endorsements.

You are letting your pride get in the way of smart politics.

You are stating the obvious, but it is amazing how many of the pile-on crowd still can't see it.

My mother is in a nursing home. Little or no interest in television and little or no ability to move. It has been tough watching her body and resources dwindle.

One of the things she enjoys is music and books which I put on her computer so she has something to listen to through her wireless headphones while we aren't there.

Unfortunately, there is a limited selection of books on CDs at our local public library, but she has really enjoyed Romney's 2013 book No Apologies. I believe it was released early last year.

18 months or so later, Romney is spot on about where the ObaMao administration is taking us at home and abroad.

Yes, most of what he writes is Captain Obvious stuff to those of us who have studied ObaMao and the left. But it looks prophetic to the great masses of politically unwashed.

It is a good read and, even though I'm not fond of the guy, I've got to give him his due.

My understanding is that Roberts is really rather conservative.

It was childish, stupid and pointless to run Milton Wolf against Romney in the primary.

Pat Roberts is VERY conservative. However, Mark Levin and even a guest host for Limbaugh are STILL taking shots at Roberts?

This is insane! If Roberts does not win, it will be the fault of the Conservative movement.

Roberts has done a great job.

No, you mistook my principles for pride.

You, on the other hand, never fail to support those who are moderates or liberals like Romney.

If Romney helps Roberts keep the seat, this is a good thing.

You really are not very good at this.
I have told you before: I supported, in this order, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and then Rick Santorum in Kansas.
Yes, in the General Election I voted for Romney. (As every conservative should have done.)

NO, I will not let you HIDE behind the claim of “principle” it is a phony, silly claim by those whose skin is too thin, and who are far to prideful about politics to be successful or even helpful at political efforts.

Pat Roberts is a Conservative leader. Roberts has helped countless conservative candidates in Kansas and across the country.

The Primary is over.

YOU SUPPORT HARRY REID! It is obvious from your posts.

Well said, but stupid and politically suicidal behavior has become quite fashionable around here.

I voted for Milton Wolf and I criticized Pat Roberts for his behavior as our Senator. Most of his problems are of his own making and I’m not sure that he has yet to learn the lesson. But, he should certainly be relected and his remaining opponents have all of the flaws that characterized Wolf plus some. Roberts needs to get on one of those ESPN type buses with his name painted all over it and visit three towns a day, every day from now until the election. He should start at the NASCAR track in KCK and stop in Dodge City on Election Day. Every day that he spends in Washington helps his opponents.

This is insightful. I think that most conservatives realize that Roberts is generally one of us and has been his whole career. I think that conservatives will vote for Roberts, particularly after they realize that Orman is a wolf in sheep's clothing (no pun intended).

It actually makes sense that Romney makes the robocall for Roberts. Roberts needs to win back the RINO-wing of the Kansas Republican Party who have a history of wandering. Who better to attract the RINOs than the king of all RINOs, Mitt Romney?
