Yes we are, but only until the election. A 78 year old man in his final term will feel no accountability to the people (especially people in a far away state that he won’t visit at all anymore).
He will vote for McConnell and provide a vote for cloture and to keep the gravy train flowing whenever needed.
I did not say it will be happening soon but the die is cast.....if it’s his last term then we have a real shot at replacing him with a more conservative candidate. This will be a long hard slog as Dick Chaney put it but we are making great strides.
And, this scenario will be different if Dingy Harry is once again the Majority Leader of the Senate?
