According to the state police, its test is divided into five sections: a vertical jump of 14 inches; a 1.5-mile run in 17 minutes, 48 seconds; a 300-meter run in 77 seconds; 13 pushups (no time limit); and an agility run of 23.5 seconds. Giordano’s test included the pushups, the 300-meter run and the vertical jump.

I've heard Dom Giordano discuss this on his program over the past week or so. I am a 61 year old male in good health. I do exercise on a regular basis, but by no means would I describe myself as an athlete. I can pass this test without a problem. That being said, there's no way I could handle the day to day real world physical requirements faced by a Pennsylvania State Trooper.

I strongly suspect that the average day-to-day physical requirements of a Pennsylvania state trooper consist of holding down the front seat of an Interceptor and doing ball-point pushups.

Really? How hard can it be to patrol every Dunkin' Donuts and to ignore marauding Black Panthers at polling places?
