It is excruciating listening to talk radio in the car. There are just too many commercial breaks and sometimes the commercial breaks run 7-8 minutes long. On top of that, you got the canned news and weather at the top of every hour. If I want news and weather, I know where to go for that and it's not some rinky-dink radio station with the operating budget of a Dairy Queen.

Unfortunately the Sirius/XM satellite radio features endless commercials on their talk stations as well. The talk radio format is a dying one.

What to do about the commercials?

If you’re at home when you listen to live talk shows, play something on TV you’ve recorded previously—CSPAN, Fox Cable News or Fox Business etc. Or go on line for previous Mark Levin shows for free. All this beats listening to the commercials or the top of the hour news breaks on the live shows.

The government sponsored PSAs, the “own your own oil well,” ads and the Heritage for the Blind jingle are beaucoup annoying!

With the News Breaks, Advertising and the “on air” Commercials that Rush does himself “Lifelock, The Tax Defender Guys and the Home Security Guys”, the Three Hours a Day is more like Two Hours a Day.

Doesn’t matter though, he is still the best in the business.
