f you count a generation as spanning 20 years, then approximately 36 percent of the American generation born from 1993 through 2012 — which has begun turning 21 this year and will continue turning 21 through 2033—were born to unmarried mothers.
80,838,742 babies were born in the United States from 1993 through 2012, according to the birth reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and 29,007,173 of those babies were born to unmarried mothers.
That does not count the 40.6 percent of babies (1,605,643 out of 3,957,577) born in 2013 who were also born to unmarried mothers.
In fact, according to the CDC, at least 40 percent of the babies born in each of the last six years — 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 — were born to unmarried mothers.

Every time I meet a single-mom (and I meet quite a few, almost always working low-paying, low skill jobs) I am always reminded that “Woman’s Liberation” hasn’t liberated woman. Quite the opposite. Such women and their kids are more burdened than ever.
On the contrary, feminists HAVE liberated men, particularly the lowest-class men, from any responsibilities to women, and the children they father.
We have normalized illegitimacy. And due to.political correctness, we vilify anyone who says anything about it. Remember the meltdown the liberals had about Dan Quayle speaking against out of wedlock parenting being portrayed on a TV show as just another lifestyle choice?
That’s where we are. We have normalized out of wedlock pregnancy and parenting, and also attack anyone who questions whether this was good for society to have done so.

I think you are on to an important point. I even think that sex is a factor. Women’s liberation encouraged women to be free and unconstrained in that area of life in their behavior with men. And then too many women found themselves.pregnant without a husband or supportive partner.
Indeed and they will produce more of them.
Unfortunately, most of them are entirely unrepentant. I know quite a few, some very well. When I point out that if they were willing to curtail their promisicuous lifestyle and devote themselves to one and only one man they would have a much better life for themselves and their children, they insist they are happier with the “freedom” they have to bang whoever strikes their fancy. Contrary to sterotypes, many of the men they date DO seem want to settle down, and even marry— but these women don’t want that. Eliminate the welfare state, and the “family court” and I can guarantee they would change their tune.
The only marriages liberals like are same sex.

You may be saying that tongue in cheek, but it’s exactly right down to the very base level -
they and their founder (Gen 3) really HATE the “traditional” family.

These women are not in a position to support themselves or their children.

How many of these were born to unwed fathers? I assume the fathers were unwed but you never know. They could be wed to someone other than the mother.
I weep for all the destruction and broken lives brought about through "feminism". Feminists/Marxists/Democrats have caused untold damage and enslaved tens of millions to poverty.

That’s a lot of bastards!
For thousands of years, bastards were stigmatized because of acts performed over which they had no control or responsibility.
Today we glorify the bastards for acts performed by two people, with no morals, that prove animals can procreate the same way that dogs, horses, monkeys or any mammal can do.
If man has no moral compass, he becomes hedonistic and this moments pleasure is all there is, and one day the final price will be paid.
Some of these women even deliberately try to get pregnant. They identify a guy, think he might make a pretty baby, and they go after him. - with every intention of getting pregnant.
I started grade school back in 59-60, and was the only fatherless child in my first grade class. Many classrooms today are the opposite, having more kids without fathers than kids with fathers. In my case, I had grandparents who took in my mother and her two kids, but these days women are in public housing and poverty, wards of the state and burden of the taxpayers. Their kids grow up to hate the very people who have sacrificed to feed, clothe and shelter them.
