LOL! Good one!

This creepy (Stephen King look-alike?) commie never fails to make everything booorrriing. Why the heck are his works so revered? Always there are funeral dirges in there for background music. My God.

Alright, so I sort of liked that one about the man driving across the country. Amazingly, no “poor black race” in that one.

No, he will have an entire segment on the plight of the poor black man, and how FDR made it all better.

Only two good things I like about Burns:

The Civil War and Baseball.

Nothing else really compares.

FDR and his socialist policies lengthened the recession and turned it into a depression. He surrounded himself with communists and ignored the millions being killed by the Russians and the Germans. He was obama before obama.

I generally enjoyed the one on the Civil War. It was given a pro Northern slant in both amount of time given to each side and clearly supported the Northern side.

I have seen a lot worse tho.

In endorsing Barack Obama for the U.S. presidency in December 2007, Burns compared Obama to Abraham Lincoln.

Half the country wanted to leave upon news of the election?

I don’t understand your question.

I was asking if that's the comparison Burns was making between Lincoln and Obama. Probably not, but it's the first comparison between Lincoln and Obama I thought of.

Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, millions want to secede today.

“He was obama before obama.”

My tagline has the link to a great (but long) article written in 1939 about FDR and his revolutionary policies. SO MANY things are just like what is happening again under Obama. Even a lot of the phrasing from old FDR speeches show up in Obama’s.

I always thought Burns looked more like Emo Philips.

What are you talking about? There is no better prose fiction than Tolstoy is there? What did you read?

He did a whole documentary on the Central park rapists, completely biased making them out to be poor little innocent boys who were wrongfully convicted. Because of that documentary, the commie Mayor of NYC Bill De Blasio recently made them millionaires by settling their lawsuit for $41 million dollars. The only problem? All of them are guilty as hell. So basically what we got here is because of Ken Burns and Bill De Blasio, 5 low lifes were made millionaires because they raped a woman.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, that’s how insane the left is. Remember that next time you pay your taxes, while you work hard trying to make ends meet that right now 5 pieces of dog filth are living it up on your dime because they raped a woman.

War and Peace was PAINFUL and I could take the Clift Notes version and divide it into three parts and tell the story in (3) sentences

I have nothing against long books, Ive read many that I never wanted to end ...
Were you my Lit Prof in College? Because he loved Tolstoy as well ... if it hadn’t been a required read ... I never would have made it through that boring (stuff). Tolstoy just isn’t my cup o tea.
I may try it again, just to see if the years have changed my perspective.
Back in the College Days for me it was Michener and what we said about him was that he didn’t get better, just longer. But he was contemporary ... maybe that was it.
TT

If Life could write it would write like Tolstoy. War and Peace has lengthy philosophical inter-chapters that could easily be removed in an abridged version. But the actual novel within it is unsurpassed except by maybe Anna Karenina. He wrote characters that were completely lifelike. The two best writers of fiction in the last 500 years are Shakespeare and Tolstoy.

PS check out the Google Doodle put up just now. :)

Anyone watching? It’s just as much about Teddy as it is about FDR and Eleanor.
