I found out about this dingo case from that episode. After seeing it about 5 times on reruns, I finally got curious. Why is Elaine saying this line about a dingo? Luckily, Google existed by then. When I searched, I learned about the case of the Australian woman whose baby got taken by a dingo. Poor lady. Imagine how much worse it is to lose a child to a dingo when they prosecute you for the murder and refuse to believe you.
Coyotes have taken children out of play pens right here in the USA. I did know of the Australian case. Difference being Dingos are feral dogs brought originally to Australia by the aborigines, and Coyotes are a completely wild Canid species.
Wasn’t there a passing reference to it in the movie “Quigley down under” as well?
