Atlanta Hawks owner Bruce Levenson is selling his controlling interest in the team, NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced Sunday.
In July, Levenson self-reported an email he wrote to the team's co-owners and general manager Danny Ferry in August 2012 that he called "inappropriate and offensive." The league commenced an independent investigation after being made aware of the comments.

I'm surprised Holder didn't have the FBI investigating Levenson....

The email is from 2012 and is supposed to be released in the coming weeks.
He is probably announcing this because he has found a buyer for his shares of the team.

I thought maybe he was concerned that a bunch of ornithologists were going to file a law suit claiming that “actual” hawks were offended by the use of the “Hawk” word. Yeah, that’s how stupid it’s getting.

With the NBA on the ropes, I’ll bet he sent this “racist” email on purpose with hopes of getting the hell out of the business.

You’re right. I believe that the NFL is next to go. It’s already headed for the ropes. I haven’t watched a game in years. Now, with “pink October” becoming bigger than the Super Bowl, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to watching it. I stopped watching when the pregame shows/sob stories became too depressing.

I read it was referencing the simple truth that white fans don't want to attend games in downtown Atlanta any more due to...ahem...environmental concerns. NBA doesn't want that kind of talk gaining any headway.

Maybe someone will offer him 2 billion? I am sure that will help Bruce get over the pain of losing his team.
