Didn’t look too brutal to me. The guy was trying to escape and fighting the whole time. I would say the two capturers used appropriate force given the criminals behavior.

Anytime you get stabbed you screwed up.
Did this for over 20 years and never cut stabbed or shot.

Failed to keep the lock on the hand. Gave the perp a chance to get a weapon.
Nice takedown, but frankly, the guy's lucky it wasn't a serious knife.

Guys need to go to cop school, but they did good considering. Yeah, here in the US that little punk would own himself a Wallyworld.

I’d like to see the perp’s mug shot. Probably wasn’t pretty.

This actually was very similar to a Walmart takedown that I witnessed a few years ago....not in Calgary but elsewhere in Canada. The loss prevention guy (only one in this instance) was about the same size as the thief but it didn’t matter, the thief was toast... and there was a lot of blood in the snow.

I just love a happy ending. Glad that was only a box cutter, if it was a bigger knife.....

I was working at Wal Mart and the security guard had a hard time keeping a dude like that down. I came up and twisted is arm threatening to break it and he stopped right there.

Welp...that is a good way to reinforce the idea that “Loss Prevention” means just that! I bet the perp thinks twice before shop lifting again.

Nice work by the security detail at Wal-Mart!!But one of them will have to go to sensitivity training...did you hear him call the perp a "monkey"?

He almost got away a few times. A taser would have been useful. Or tie up his legs
