An ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening medical emergency for the mother, and unsurvivable for the baby. Why she would talk about that as if it were an ordinary birth-control abortion is beyond me. I am also puzzled as to her apparent attitude that a medically necessary abortion somehow justifies unnecessary elective abortion, because it doesn’t. No one faults a woman for undergoing emergency surgery to save her life, even if the result is that the baby dies.

In the case of a severe fetal abnormality, the issue is not quite as clear, IMO. If the baby is suffering and not likely to survive... I just don’t know. However, some pro-abortion women will make the claim that the baby is suffering so as to try to deflect some of the stigma of killing a child that does not need to die. Some abortionists (based on what some abortion clients have told me) tell women that something is wrong and the baby won’t live anyway, so as to convince her to go ahead and have an abortion. One girl I knew went on to have a perfect baby girl after an abortionist told her that there was no way the baby could survive anyway. (It turned out that the abortionist determined the pregnancy was too far advanced to do a legal abortion, and stopped the procedure—sad that the girl had already decided to have an abortion, and the reason it wasn’t done was not because of her change of heart.)

I feel for anybody that has to go through those situations. An eptopic pregnancy is never going to result in the birth of a baby. It will kill the mom if left untreated.

In any event I have no idea how those experiences would help qualify some to be a governor.

In fact, I wonder why anyone would feel the need to share these stories outside of their immediate circle of friends.

And finally, those “procedures” have been done in hospitals since surgeries have been done. These would not be prohibited under anyone’s definition of abortions. These are not back alley things.

Note that she picks 2 types of abortion that most people are sympathetic to. With ectopic pregnancies, medical intervention is essential or both mother and baby will die. But with or without medical intervention, the baby will not survive. I don't know of any pro-lifers who object to medical intervention in this case to save the mother's life. With the second abortion, it sounds to me that the baby would most likely not survive outside the womb long after birth if the pregnancy did indeed last throughout 9 months. Regardless, this women supports abortion not just for hard cases such as these. She supports them for any and all reasons at any stage of pregnancy. So she is “baiting and switching”, playing on the voters’ emotions and getting unthinking people to empathize with her, then switching to her ultimate goal of supporting all abortions to be paid for by taxpayers whether they want to or not. She is one evil woman. I wouldn't be one bit surprised to find out that her abortion stories are not factual.

Maybe some with better medical knowledge than I will correct me, but I’m not sure that I would consider an ectopic pregnancy an abortion, any more than I would consider a miscarriage to be an abortion. Except in very rare circumstances, the baby cannot survive.

The left want to talk about every special circumstance, except the 95+ percent of cases that the baby simply isn’t convenient. In the 1990s, leftists always said they wanted abortion to be “safe, legal, and rare”, but it has been years since I have heard them include “rare”.
