Since President Obama departed for Europe this week he and other administration officials have sent mixed messages about what exactly the mission is with regard to the Islamist extremist group ISIS.
The president, who spoke about the adminstration's ISIS objectives again today at the NATO conference in Wales, has laid out several different goals, ranging from completely destroying ISIS to shrinking its sphere of influence.
Below is a list of the various objectives against ISIS, which is also known as ISIL, that Obama and his team have laid out in the past week:
“Our objective is clear, and that is to degrade and destroy ISIL” – President Obama, NATO press conference, Sept. 3
“Our objective is to make sure that ISIL is not an ongoing threat to the region” – Obama, NATO press conference, Sept. 3
“We are going to achieve our goal. We are going to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL” – Obama, NATO press conference, Sept. 5

Imagine how Ronald Reagan would have responded. “I have ordered an immediate bombing offensive which will only finish when every member of ISIS is dead.” Now, contrast that with Obama. “We will degrade and destroy...” (Degrade?) Then the statements got weaker rather than stronger.

What’s the next city / armored column / etc. that needs attacking? Just flatten them with overwhelming loads of high explosives.
Sheesh. ISIS wants to wipe us out. Let’s do it to them before they do it to us.
This does not take a big room full of people. A president with any sort of sense would just launch the bombing campaign a few months ago, and then figure out a precise strategy for what MORE he’s going to do.
It’s obvious it will take nothing less than a massive terrorist hit on the homeland to move 0bumble to decisive and effective action against ISIS, but likely not even then.

Tell whoever claims to be in charge in Syria, Iraq, and Libya to STFU or they’re next. Pound these savages into pink mist wherever they are. Use whatever weapons are necessary to achieve at goal, up to and including tactical nukes.
Tell their financiers that the CIA has been given permission to assassinate them and their entire families if we suspect they’ve given these baby raping monsters so much as a plugged nickel. Then do it. Tell those two faced bastards in Riyadh that this means them, too.
