Iran's Supreme Leader has approved co-operation with the US as part of the fight against Islamic State (IS) in Iraq, sources have told BBC Persian.

Ayatollah Khamenei has authorised his top commander to co-ordinate military operations with the US, Iraqi and Kurdish forces, sources in Tehran say.

Iran has traditionally opposed US involvement in Iraq, an Iranian ally.

However, Shia Iran sees the extremist Sunni IS group, which views Shias as heretics, as a serious threat.

Yea, and I bet the Iranians will let the U.S. taxpayers give them money and arms to join this “alliance”.

These people think the Obama Administration is weak and stupid.

They may be right.

More often than not, our enemies will choose our allies even if they themselves are our enemies. That’s not unusual.

However, I would feel a lot better about it if we had a president who wasn’t trying to screw us.

Give up an alliance with a scorpion, to make common cause with a cobra?

What could possibly go wrong?

The ISIS people and the theocracy in Iran are having their own version of a crusade battle, and our involvement with either side should be minimal, to say the least.

But of course, it won’t be, considering the inclination of the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut (I’m speaking of YOU, Valerie Jarrett) to show allegiance to the country of her nativity. Most of the rest of the Current Regime is sort of placing their bets on the Muslim Brotherhood, of which the ISIS has become the Schutzstaffel, or more exactly, the Waffen-SS. The Totenkopf units are in charge of mass executions of both non-Muslim minorities and those Muslims who do not conform to the jihadist ideals.

What difference, at this point, does it make?

Perhaps none, should Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, become the successor in fact to the Current Regime.

"Joint" operations??? Lurch and Zero have already announced they aren't going to do anything.

Drop a few bombs, smoke a few camels. Do some more teleprompter. That's about it.

“ISIS is a much bigger menace than Iran at this point.”

ISIS vs Iran is sunni vs shite pissing contest. It would good if both kill each other.

The best thing to do is to protect the Kurds, lay back, and enjoy the show. But there is no profit in it. So, here we go...
