Islamic State using leaked Snowden info to evade U.S. intelligence
Washington Times ^ | 09/05/2014 | By Rowan Scarborough

A former top official at the National Security Agency says the Islamic State terrorist group has “clearly” capitalized on the voluminous leaks from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and is exploiting the top-secret disclosures to evade U.S. intelligence.

Bottom line: Islamic State killers are harder to find because they know how to avoid detection.

Chris Inglis was the NSA’s deputy director during Mr. Snowden’s flood of documents to the news media last year. Mr. Snowden disclosed how the agency eavesdrops, including spying on Internet communications such as emails and on the Web’s ubiquitous social media.

Asked by The Washington Times if the Islamic State has studied Mr. Snowden’s documents and taken action, Mr. Inglis answered, “Clearly.”

Probably easy to hack government at this time. There is no intelligence left in the government right now.

He did not disclose it as much as he confirmed it.

Anyone who was paying attention already knew - long before Snowden's leaks - of the government's actions & capabilities.

Ordinary American citizens are also using that info to avoid being monitored by the NSA.

Sadly in my older years have become one cynical SxB that refuses to blindly believe much of anything that we are told by the media, politicians, etc. The propaganda factory of self interest now rules over us instead of morals, decency and authorities that serve the citizenry with honesty.

Gee whiz, you would think that if the information was leaked, the so-called “intelligence” services would adapt and stop using those methods.

Bingo! This Marie Harf chippie at the State Department is probably typical of who works for them now.

Why do they need the Snowden information when they have a direct line to Baraq?

Isn’t the bigger problem that the NSA IS STILL READING INNOCENT AMERICAN CITIZEN EMAILS?!

How low can they go? Blaming Snowden for ISIS is getting there.

Snowden didn't supply arms to rebels who turned against their US sponsors in Syria....Obama, Hillary, and McCain did.

I can’t stand watching these gals. They remind me of Valley Girls trying to act smart.

I am embarrassed by them.

If our government really cared about security then we wouldn’t have open borders. If we had actual border security and quit allowing Muslims into the country legally we wouldn’t have a problem with Islamic terrorism on our soil anyway. I will never defend the NSA and it’s abuse of power regardless of the supposed threats they are protecting us from. We are destroying ourselves from within and all of these foreign issues are just diverting our attention to the real problems we face at home. Problems that are so out of control that their really isn’t any easy solutions for at this point. These foreign affairs might be important to us if we weren’t facing the magnitude of problems we are facing here at home right now, but we are and these domestic problems dwarf all of these external conflicts. It’s depressing because there aren’t any easy answers to solving all of our problems, and it’s very likely that there aren’t any realistic solutions to our problems anymore.
