House Republicans are laying groundwork to capitalize on widespread discontent with President Obama's handling of ISIS, scheduling a series of hearings and meetings aimed at drafting a plan to defeat the jihadist group.
While the Republican Conference has no authority over military operations or nearly enough influence with the Obama White House to shape its counterterrorism strategy, lawmakers' intent is to force the president's hand after spending weeks during recess hearing from constituents who are worried the United States is not doing enough against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
That could include legislation within the next few weeks, House leaders told their members in a conference call on Wednesday.
"The overwhelming consensus was that not only do we need a plan, but we will have a plan, and we will have an unfettered and determined approach to make sure we stop this process that is growing like a cancer in the Middle East," said Rep. Mark Meadows, a junior member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
On the call, Speaker John Boehner told members that, while traveling the country on behalf of candidates over the past several weeks, leaders heard considerable anxiety from the public about the militant group and the limited U.S. response thus far.

But, Ø is concerned about ISIL. Gonna be confusing if congress deals with ISIS while Ø deals with ISIL.
My plan would be to engage them in close combat and kill them all.Not much of a plan,but it would get the job done.
Better to just let the military do their thing with other militaries and disintegrate ISIS.

He has to reconcile with himself the fact that he was completely naïve in all respects — Russia/Putin, Islamic terrorism, Obamacare, etc.
Maybe, just maybe, the Democrat party's platform is misdirected.
Now, will he accept this fact or will he continue to be in denial. I am betting on the latter until something really bad happens.
Sounds like they take their orders from Maddow on MSNBC, that is what she’s been calling for...congress to vote and get some blame for the resulting mess.
On page 261 of the paperback edition of Audacity of Hope Obama wrote: I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
I sincerely doubt that they will.

and calling his members back to congress for a special session.

A co-worker and I were discussing the ISIS vs ISIL. He made a good point that he thinks the Nobama administration is using ISIL to get the point across that Israel is part of the Levant.
In other words they are going to do nothing...a few weeks tells that story, in fact I suspect we will never hear about it again.

This is the prayer originally entitled "Let Our Hearts Be Stout" written by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as Allied troops were invading German-occupied Europe during World War II. The prayer was read to the Nation on radio on the evening of D-Day, June 6, 1944, while American, British and Canadian troops were fighting to establish five beach heads on the coast of Normandy in northern France.
The previous night, June 5th, the President had also been on the radio to announce that Allied troops had entered Rome. The spectacular news that Rome had been liberated was quickly superceded by news of the gigantic D-Day invasion which began at 6:30 a.m. on June 6th. By midnight, about 57,000 American and 75,000 British and Canadian soldiers had made it ashore, amid losses that included 2,500 killed and 8,500 wounded.

As TedC would say, "You are Exactly correct". Saying "Isil Isil ISIL!!!!", as Ø is wont to do, severely jabs the craw of Bibi and Israelis. The Levant includes Israel, and by referring to it, you give IS much more respect than they deserve by putting their main goal on a pedestal.
