WHY? Because voting "against" necessarily entails voting for something else. Nobody voted "against" Obama in 2012, although many intended to. But intentions and acts are TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS.
Intention to vote "against" Obama by voting for Romney, or voting "against" Cruz Bustamonte by voting for Arnold Schwarzenegger, both were ACTS of voting FOR the Republican party to turn left, and that is exactly what those votes achieved.
Intentions -- the road to hell is paved with many good intentions -- don't mean squat, EandHDad, cynwood, Bubba-Leroy, Defeat Corruption, and anyone else reading who is still kidding themselves that they're voting "against" leftism in the act of voting for it.
Shame on you. Logic has no place in today’s political scene.
In 2012, the Republicans nominated RINO Romney. Lots of conservatives stayed home. Obama got re-elected. But we sure showed them again!
In 2016, I hope and pray that the Republicans do not nominate another RINO. I will do everything that I can in the primaries to prevent that from happening and hope everyone else does as well. If the Republicans nominate another RINO, lots of conservatives will stay home and whoever the Democrat is will get elected. But we sure will show them!
Frankly, one more "we sure showed them" and our country is finished. We cannot survive another 4 to 8 years of left wing Democrat control. The judicial appointments alone will be the death of us.
We MIGHT survive 4 years of RINO control. Do I want that to happen? Hell no! Can we survive it? Maybe. I will choose the possibility of survival over certain death.
So go ahead and commit suicide if a RINO is nominated. I will try and stay alive a little longer on life support and keep working on a cure.

The fact is that the voting populace of the US has been trending left since WWII. The politicians, who come from the masses, are only a representation of what they see are their constituency.
So you can’t load all the blame for the leftward drift on the politician anymore than you can blame a mirror for the ugly mug it shows you in the morning.
There is only one course of action that conservatives have and that is to continuously and shamelessly explain what we believe and why to anyone who will listen, by voice, by word, or by media.
We also need to concentrate efforts locally, where we can have some effect as all politics are local.
Having done that, all that is left is the vote, and most of us do that, but we are outnumbered. So all you can do is vote for the best candidate on the slate that can represent you.
Sometimes there is not a good choice. In fact, more than likely, you will have to compromise a bit..with yourself.
You don’t need to go through all kinds of agony and mental gymnastics to justify voting for the lesser evil. Because a withheld vote or a misplaced vote, goes to the other side every frickin time it is tried.. It sends no readable message to anyone. All they care about is the win, and each political cycle has a different strategy...Votes for turd parties, or non votes (no shows) are all treated the same..
They only count to raise the opposition’s margin of victory.
