GM’s sales forcast for the Volt was 10,000/yr. if I recall correctly.

10,000 was their forecast for the first full year of sales...they missed that by over 20%.

I don’t know what GM’s forecast was for the following years...but Barry Obama in 2008 thought we would have a million all electric and plug ins on the road by 2015.

That fell short.

When GM contacted us about the bid for the electric motor, they estimated 40,000. Our CEO laughed and told GM they wouldn’t sell 10,000 and he declined to bid. He was right.
