Interesting piece. But I think that Freeman is fooling himself. The GOP-e will continue to play its role within the Uniparty until they are made utterly irrelevant or are forced out.

Therefore, as far as I can see, there are only two potential courses of action:

1) Say to hell with the GOP and stand up a third party

2) Infiltrate the GOP establishment starting at the county level and replace them. Once we have enough votes at convention time, toss the existing GOP-e state and national leaders out on their ears.

<>Reagan was seduced by the statist conceit — namely, that government can be a force for good if only we can put the right people in power, if only we can put our people in power. <>

Such is the Siren Song that dominates FR. Another party is corollary to doing the same thing.

#2 isn’t going to show results anytime in the next 20 years, so that leaves #1, establishment of a new conservative political party.

The GOP isn’t going to win the White House, as the country has shifted hard left. So establishment of a new party that would serve as a true house for conservatism.

The GOPe strategy for the past several primary seasons is to put forth and back the most liberal “republican” candidate they can find. Then he, among a field of 10 or so, mostly conservative other candidates wins the primaries, rather easily too.

In the mean time, conservatives squabble about which conservative candidate is the most conservative, bashing each others candidate as being rino.

They will do it again this time too - because it works. Prepare your self for another Romney, if not Romney himself, a clone of him.

I don’t believe my position in the last primaries was unreasonable, I stated that I’d vote in the general for any republican nominee except Romney, I just was not able to stoop that low.

The only reason they’ve been somewhat successful is that it is a unified effort between the Democratic party and the Republican party to squash the Tea Party. They used the power of their authoritarians...the IRS and the DOJ to get it done and of course they did their own part in the house and senate.

I say, start a new third party.

2014 is not going to be the blowout the GOP thinks it is going to be.

The GOP is already fuddling the message, and its leadership is not inspiring in the least.

Between this idiocy and the blatant vote fraud, we are lucky to get 4 of the 6 Senate seats we need to get the majority.

Then we are still the minority.

If they blow 2014, we have no choice but to start a third party.

The Tea Party put these miserable SOBs back on their feet and in power in 2010 across the state and federal boards, while the GOP was still reeling from getting their asses kicked on Obamacare.

But since then, they have done squat, and Boehner and McConnell have been such weak and ineffective leaders, that the Dems daily give thanks to their god, Satan, that these two morons are in their leadership seats for the GOP.

After 2012, Preibus and Rove should have been given the heave-ho. That they were not, is very instructive. And from them comes the anti-Tea Party movement. Amazing how two losers get to define the on-going strategy.

Make no mistake, 2014 is the backstop to save the country. If it goes the wrong way, normalcy will be gone.

We blow this, or rather, the GOP party blows this, there is no peaceful way back. The Dems are trying to institute Communism as the replacement to our Constitution.

The GOP has shown itself to be a feckless, moronic, weak, pathetic bunch of dullards in the face of a clear and present danger.

They think they have a winning strategy for the next nine weeks—I think they don’t have a clue as to what is coming.

God help us between now and Nov. 4th.

If 2014 turns into another 2012, God help the GOP. Because we certainly won’t.

Bennett should have been given one task only - shut down Jimmie Carter’s Department of Education as quickly as possible.
