The Skyhawks from New Zealand are actually former Australian Navy birds from back when we had an aircraft carrier is the early 1980’s. I spent a bit of back seat time when NZ had a squadron of Skyhawks based in Australia.

The Kiwi pilots were possibly the best aviators in the world and I only wish that NZ had replaced the A4’s with F16’s as was the original plan instead of getting rid of their fast jet capibility.

Yes, NZ has taken the strategic view that they are of no consequence. They’ll be the last to be attacked, and are too small to be consequential in a world war, so why try?

Not saying I agree with the logic, just pointing it out.
