DALLAS – Republican Sen. Ted Cruz sounds increasingly like he's made up his mind to run for president in 2016, telling an influential gathering of conservative activists Saturday that "we are part of a grassroots fire that is sweeping this country."
"I'm convinced we're going to win in 2014, and 2016 is going to be even better," the Texas Republican said during a summit of Americans for Prosperity, the political arm of the billionaire GOP donors Charles and David Koch. "And in the year 2017, a Republican president in the Rose Garden is going to sign a bill repealing every word of Obamacare."
Cruz joked about inviting President Barack Obama to the border to see where thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children have poured into the U.S. The president declined such an invitation from Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Cruz with his wife as a CEO at Goldman Sacks. Ironic that Hamilton is used as a quote. I’m cautious of him because of his connection.

You can’t find a politician that doesn’t have a spouse or close relative who is a lobbyist. They are ALL in it for the money.

Who is Gov. Palin’s “spouse or close relative who is a lobbyist?” I must’ve missed that. BTW, Mrs. Cruz isn’t a lobbyist. Cruz’s wife is currently head of the Southwest Region in the Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and previously worked in the White House for Condoleezza Rice and in New York as an investment banker.

Well Cruz had better run in 2016, if the GOP wants to win. If Cruz doesn’t run I’m probably not voting.

Yeah, the GOPe and other establishment RINO’s are already trying to trot out known failures such as Mitt and Jeb. No thanks, I’m done with that.

Cruz is pro-life, for secure borders, pro-2nd amendment, for smaller government, and against socialized medicine.
Yep. He meets my criteria.

He's the absolute cream of the GOP crop and I hope he runs.
I'm also hoping he'll adopt Romney's "Self Deportation" position on illegals.
I want to hear Ted Cruz speak on what he would do with the 12 million here now.

I’d love to see a Palin/Cruz ticket in ‘16.
On a new party platform.
The GOP-e can go the way of the Whigs.
Especially if they blow the 2014 election.

Which of the pseudo-conservatives will hang on to dilute the primaries so the GOPelite preference can win the nomination — again?
One mag published a list of about 65 Pubbies who have expressed interest or are likely to strongly consider running. Most of the 2012 retreads and one or two from 2008 have also indicated they might run. Even Romney is, through sycophants, is strongly hinting at another run.
Regardless of the slate of wannabes in the primaries, my state primary is so late in the spring that the nominee will most likely have already been determined weeks earlier — as in 2008 and 2012.

Well, Ross Perot proved that with enough $$ you can get on the ballot in all 50 states.
And elect a Democrat with a plurality.

My view is that the primaries should be scheduled with the largest R margin states from the previous POTUS election held first, and count down from there. Trivialize the blue states when it comes to picking the candidate.
