Whew, that will add some excitement to your day right there now.....

That is why good communication with BP and CSO is a MUST if you want to be part in securing our borders. These BP agents need to know who are in the woods. They are jumpy from putting their lives on the line everyday

The militia people need to be scanning BP freqs to know what they are doing so that they can either one, assist or two, get the hell out of the way. In this case, the militia fellow should have got the hell out of the way.

We used to carry the same garmin radio locators as BP with our positions on their locators. Worked sweet. I did not get shot. That is a plus in my book no matter which way you hang it. Plus we scanned their freqs on my radio and on main com operator so that we knew what was happening all the time. At night we wore IR strobes on our helmets for NVG work both boots and helo. Good communication both verbal and visible.

Don’t hide from them work with them and they will respect you more. If these guys are playing Rambo, then they need to GO home. They are going to create problems.

At a bare minimum, you communicate your presence and plans and boundaries of operation.

You establish a line of communication with allied personnel operating in the area.

I don’t know the specifics regarding the incident as reports seem to vary a bit.

I’d be of the opinion so far that the BP guys were not aware of the militia guys.

And that’s the militia guys responsibility.
