Many are finding out that being insured is not the only issue. Finding a doctor who will accept you as a patient is just as big of a problem.


It’s not even an issue for me.

It’s because as of the first of the year I can go to any doctor that will take my money. And virtually all of them will. And since I’m not insured, it’s a very simple (and shockingly cheap) process.

Actually one of my doctors who closed his practice first instituted a cash policy with office visits costing only $35. I was not only satisfied with that but thrilled. Unfortunately, he could not sustain the cash model because many of his patients required more expensive procedures and Medicare rules did not allow for partial opt out by the physician. I hope it goes well with you. Being flexible and innovative is probably the best way forward, at least for the near future. Staying healthy also is a great strategy.
