Russia’s persistent military infiltrations into Ukrainian territory represent a “significant escalation” of the conflict there, the White House warned late Monday night after the capture of 10 Russian paratroopers in Eastern Ukraine.
"Repeated Russian incursions into Ukraine unacceptable. Dangerous and inflammatory," National Security Adviser Susan Rice said on Twitter.
The top Obama aide said the Kremlin had sent artillery, air defense system, dozens of tanks, and military personnel into the volatile region, where pro-Russian separatists are battling government forces from Kiev.
“Russia has no right to send vehicles or cargo into Ukraine without” the government’s permission, she said.
Kiev said Tuesday it had captured 10 Russian paratroopers in Donetsk, a rebel stronghold. Russian defense officials insisted the soldiers had crossed the border accidentally and surrendered, according to The Washington Post.
And Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow plans to send another convoy of trucks containing humanitarian aid through rebel territory later this week.
Last week, the United States threatened additional sanctions against Moscow amid reports a Russian convoy entered Ukrainian territory without permission from the government.
"We very much condemn the flagrant violation of Ukraine's sovereignty that we saw today with the movement of this Russian convoy," deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes said Friday.
Rhodes blasted the decision to move the convoy into Ukraine as "part of a pattern of flagrant violation of Ukrainian sovereignty" and said the administration was "deeply concerned" over the provocation.
"Russia should take the opportunity to remove this convoy from inside of Ukraine's borders," Rhodes said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet Tuesday with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and representatives of the European Union Tuesday in Minsk. It’s unclear if the two leaders will hold bilateral talks separate from the broader meeting, which is expected to discuss Ukraine’s economic future.

If the US does anything in Syria under the pretext of bombing ISIS then Putin will move to take all of Ukraine within 48 hours. Putin will also move into Syria with weapons and troops to “protect their port there”.
