EDGARTOWN Mass. (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama has ordered a review of the distribution of military hardware to state and local police out of concern at how such equipment has been used during racial unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.
A senior Obama administration official said on Saturday the president has ordered a review of federal programs and funding that enable state and local law enforcement to purchase military equipment.
Images of police wielding military-style guns and armor have alarmed many Americans following violence that was triggered by the fatal shooting of an African-American teenager, Michael Brown, by a white police officer in Ferguson.

A month or so ago they announced that the FBI will start taping all suspect interrogations.
And those are the only good things I can think of that have come out of this administration.
Perhaps he doesn't want the local law enforcement to be able to combat the federal troops in the event he were to declare Marshall law. If it been any other president asking for the review, it wouldn't seem so scary~

Well, not yet, but he can probably control their access to US military equipment.
They have the,”Do as we say or no more Federal funds” authority. So far that has been all that is needed. They don’t toe the company line, no more toys. Seems to be working.
Historically, no president has authority over local police, but because it's him....that is the point exactly.

While it seems prudent to evaluate this transfer of military hardware to civilian LE, it wasn’t the ‘hardware’ that caused the riots. The riots started and then the ‘hardware’ was brought in.
Directed to show up at “more tea parties, less black panther protests”...
The Feds will maintain their military hardware and they will increase their jurisdiction. The local police will be disarmed and phased out.
Military hardware will not be used on blacks. Military hardware will be used on whites and tea party patriots.
WOW. Thank goodness. Obama will review something. Problem solved now stop asking questions.
Deputy Fife is not trained on the military equipment and does not have the military discipline to handle it. And the military equipment should not be used by civilian law enforcement on civilians. And history has shown us that once a local cop gets a new toy, he loves using it.
And what are the odds that anyone from MS-13 is going to show up to cause trouble in Boise?
Yeh. This review and ‘study’ will be used to justify Feds confiscating all this equipment.

Sure things will change; police will be ordered to stand down in black neighborhoods. They’ll transfer the hardware to the ‘burbs and flyover country...

Bad guys go where they meet no resistance. The good guys need overwhelming force against the bad guys.
