If I understand his character correctly, he will thrive in his new environment.

Yeah, I can’t say I have a lot of respect for the police there, what with their eagerness to enforce the new gun control law.

Is that a beach towel around the lawyers neck?

He’s a bit “metro”.

He was just protecting and serving himself to the victim's property. After all, the dead guy wouldn't need it.

I don’t know about other parts of the country, but around here, if you get in an accident, and have to be transported to the hospital, expect your valuables to be stolen. Cash at the minimum, up to and including credit cards and jewelry.

My father had almost $300 in cash taken from his wallet after his accident. I think it’s way more common than you realize. Maybe you, as an honest person working in emergency response, can try to send some of these scumbags to jail for a spell. Keep your eyes open, you might be surprised by what you see at crash sites...

Been doing this for a while and have yet to see a colleague steal anything from a patient. EMS workers would lose their licenses and forfeit working in the EMS field ever again if they got caught stealing from patients. And it would make them felons. Has it happened? Yes. Is it a routine occurrence? Hardly.

Sometimes it's just a dirty cop stealing from a dying man.

I'll betcha that this individual has been cutting corners, abusing his authority and taking advantage of his badge for most of his career.

That’s appalling. My father-in-law was a state trooper and he is an honorable man. One of the most decent men I’ve ever known. I am sorry to read of this other trooper who disgraced his fellow troopers.

This fine officer was just engaged in what he’s been authorized by the state to do every day:

Asset Forfeiture

He just wanted to get in on a little of that action for himself.
That’s the entrepreneurial spirit in the thin blue line.
