State trooper AJ Huntsman was accused of lifting more than $8,000 in cash and jewelry from a dying man at a motorcycle crash site in 2012. He later lied to supervisors and the dead man's family about it, authorities said.
A crooked Connecticut cop caught by his dash cam stealing more than $8,000 in cash and jewelry off a mangled motorcycle crash victim is facing prison after pleading guilty Wednesday.
State trooper AJ Huntsman, 45, was facing 10 years for the theft, but was likely to get just 16 months in jail and five years' probation when he's sentenced on Oct. 3, the Connecticut Post reported.

GOOD!!!!! WHAT A CREEP!!!!!! WHAT A THIEF!! WHAT A LOWLIFE!!!
Has to be way more to this story.
I’d say he did himself in.
Stealing from the dead/dying is despicable.

How stupid is this cop? A camera rolling and he steals!
Yes, there's more - all of it reflecting badly on the trooper.
Has to be way more to this story.
= = = = = = = = =
If not, this guy doesn’t deserve ANY probation, should be forced to do the entire sentence in GENPOP.
Yes there is way more to this story.
Ask any family member who had a relative die in a traffic accident. By the time the victim arrived at the hospital and after the police and ambulance guys got to him the victim was stripped of anything of value. The car too.
The crooked bassturd deserved the ten years.
I wonder how many times before he had done similar things and didn’t get caught.
But... will his union force the state to continue paying his salary? Does he get full pension as soon as he's out of jail?
I should have added: high school ring, college ring, wedding ring, groceries, wallet, dry cleaning, on and on. Nothing is sacred.
His weak moral character did him in,the dash cam just recorded it.
What - no dog to shoot?
He got caught THIS TIME! POS!
He knows a camera is running and he still feels free to steal? He isn’t afraid of his superior? Such brazen act indicates it not the first time, just first time caught. If he is pleading guikty , its likely a lesser charge. What else did he steal? Drugs? Yes, I think there is a whole lot more to this story.
Oh, of course! He was entitled to the dying guy's stuff because he's a hard working cop, right? I mean, he's got a mortgage, and a measly salary, so why shouldn't he profit from a little payola on the side!
Or maybe, what? The guy like, was cheating him out of some casino winnings the two had won together? I mean, yeah! Gotta be way more to this story to justify taking more than $8,000 in cash and jewelry from a guy who hasn't even taken his last breath! Gotta be!
One more dirty cop off the streets.
