The last video of 18 year-old Michael Brown shows the Normandy High School graduate robbing a local convenience store.
On Friday reporter Charles Johnson sued the St. Louis County Court for Michael Brown’s juvenile arrest record. Via Got News:
Got News filed a lawsuit against St. Louis County court today to obtain the juvenile arrest records of Michael Brown after the court denied his request. Brown was killed in a controversial altercation with Officer Darren Wilson.
Got News editor-in-chief Charles C. Johnson was told by two different law enforcement sources from St. Louis that Brown had a juvenile arrest record but that that report has been kept from the public…
…To find out if those police officers are correct requires seeing Brown’s juvenile arrest record, which ought to be freely available given that he is dead and therefore has no right to privacy remaining. Press reports say that Brown has no “adult arrest record” but how could he have one? He was only eighteen for a few months.

In fairness, if the police are going to talk about Brown having a juvenile arrest record then that act by itself violates the notion of Brown having a post-mortem right to privacy. They should release the records since they’ve put them in the public domain by talking about them.
They have claimed he doesn’t have a juvenile record but I don’t buy it. He didn’t become a thug in a couple of months.

If he has no record could they not just say so? That would violate no privacy at all. Since they refuse to say that would indicate that there is a record.

His juvenile arrest record doesn’t fit the template they want so it is not public.
I have wondering about that as well. I have a hard time believing he was a first time offender. They way he bullied that clerk, and then attacked (allegedly) the cop indicate he was comfortable, and confident as a crook.
Heck, I have a fairly sizable juvenile record and never got anywhere near strong arm robbery.

6'-4", 300 pounds, with a sealed juvenile record, 'graduating' from high school on his way to college, and 1-1/2 years behind his age in academic achievement.
Combine that with associating with a known criminal and liar, and running loose, unsupervised by any sort of meaningful parental guidance.
Certainly a picture of a 'poor child' victim image...
By parsing the “ no record as an adult” statement we know for certain that he has a juvenile record.
We can be assured that the police and court employees involved in his previous crimes have been threatened that they must remain mute on that topic.
It would be great if a thorough investigative reporter————okay, stop laughing————would ask the local powers that be if they have commanded silence of their troops. Like that would ever happen.
