He’ll be lucky to get that. George Zimmerman has worked exactly zero days since he was found innocent of any wrong-doing. I don’t know how his lawyers think he’s ever going to pay them back. They should probably just write-off his debt and take it as a loss.

Zimmerman should also change his identity.

Whatever lawyer Zimmerman hired probably wanted his money up front before the trial. I have worked with defense attorneys for years back in the days after my retirement from Uncle. They normally required the fee up front. A “retainer” it is called. You have to pay, in a case like Zimmerman’s, maybe $10,000-$15,000 up front, before the lawyer does one minute of work. The lawyer would meet with Zimmerman and family. Talk over the case and say this is what it is going to take to defend you. If Zimmerman said he didn’t have that money, the lawyer would not take his case. If he took it, and when the attorney comes near using all that up, he will tell you to give him another X amount and that is the way it goes. If Zimmerman says, I have no more money, the attorney would petition the court to be released from the case.
