I think by stating making history they are talking actually playing football. Let's be real. Everyone knows that kickers and punters aren't really football players.... :-)

My mom (now 87) went to a small school in rural Texas. So small they could not filed even a 9 man football team.
But, with her as catcher, they won state in their class in baseball (no girls softball then)!
