It seems to me that we have reverse racism nowadays.

We can talk about the legacy of discrimination and Jim Crow laws and all that, but now they work in reverse.

In the old days, blacks were rightly afraid of getting into some altercation with whites, because of fears of being blamed for whatever happened, and getting in legal trouble.

Nowadays, whites need to be afraid of altercations with blacks, because of fears of being blamed, and getting in legal trouble. Nowadays, whites have to fear that somehow the perception will be that whatever happened is somehow the fault of the white person. And the black person involved is blameless.

The idea behind the term “reverse racism” is the assumption that racism is only committed by whites, and when blacks engage in the same behavior it isn’t racism. It’s just turning the tables. It’s not really racism. It’s the reverse of racism. The opposite.

There is no such thing as “reverse racism.” It’s either racism, or it isn’t.

I dislike the term “reverse racism” as used to mean black racism against whites. It implies that only white racism against black constitutes “real” racism.

There is only racism. The races of those involved are irrelevant.

OTOH, I think there is a perfectly good and logical potential use for the term “reverse racism.” It would be the opposite of real racism, so it would be the dislike/hatred of one’s own race, and a belief in its inferiority compared to other races.
