The following statement was released by Keith Kelleher, president of SEIU Healthcare Illinois, Indiana, Missouri & Kansas, in response to the shooting of Ferguson, MO, resident Michael Brown and the unrest that is occurring there:
The aftermath of the tragic shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, reveals the urgent need for justice to prevail in order to bring a level of calm back to the community. The initial lack of information coming from the Ferguson Police Department and its militarized response to protesters has clearly erased any faith in local authorities to uncover the truth.
To that end, the members of SEIU Healthcare Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Kansas call on Governor Jay Nixon to do everything in his authority to de-escalate the militarized atmosphere in Ferguson and allow residents to practice their 1st Amendment right to peaceful assembly and protest.
Additionally, we call on the governor to appoint an independent investigator to work along with the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice, who also have been called in to investigate.
Michael Brown was shot six times while unarmed. Some accounts indicate that his hands were raised in the air when shot. The community demands that someone be held accountable for this abuse of force.
We express our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Michael Brown and call on Gov. Nixon to move swiftly and with transparency to review the facts, inform the community and bring charges wherever the investigation shows that there was misconduct.
We also believe that it is only when people of good will unite and organize for racial and economic justice that incidents like this will cease to occur.

There was a trial, out there in the street, during the daylight.
The good guys were strung up.

Citizens of the USA are entitled to the presumption of innocence, even cops. Any one demanding punishment before the investigation and trial are denying the policeman his civil rights, and inciting violence in the streets.
Blacks obviously don’t believe in the presumption of innocence ... GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT is fine with them.
You cannot build a civilization with uncivilized people.
Brown got six doses of justice. What do they want?!
We’re quickly returning to tribalism, which is the natural order of uncivilized and semi-civilized humans.
Officer Wilson was convicted of murder. Then the Judge came in and started the trial. The prosecutor stood up and said, "Just look at him, he's white."
Then the Judge said, "GUILTY"
Then they took up donations for the Brown Family
And Spike Lee brought Mike Tyson along to punch any white people that got too close.
Protestors took it to E St Louis today.

A school was locked down.
They won’t stop unless they are stopped. It’s like the thing of rewarding negative behavior.
Of course now, politics is involved and much money and manpower (feds, local police, nat’l guard).
Reputations are on the line and they committed to another invalid incident. Nothing about this case was racial or unjustified. They are wrong, but too far in to back out now.

The school was locked down because SOME OF LOCAL LEO attend there. Kids are now targets, too?

God, I hope not. The officer is in seclusion in fears for his life. Holder going to meet him would ensure that Wilson's location was made public.
Officer Wilson needs to leak his hospital pictures showing his injuries. None of the interviews including fox news touches that point. At least a leaked picture would require the race baiters to respond. As it is, they get to repeat their lies unchallenged.
