I’m going to go counter to the sentiment here. Both these women lost sons and they are grieving. There is sympathy in my heart for them. I don’t know their family situations and whether or not they were “good” parents.

Who has not known a family who appears to have done everything right raising their children, but despite that, there was a black sheep who chose the wrong path in life and caused their families great pain and hardship? Humans have free will and they alone are responsible for their actions, especially when they become adults.

Sure, these women are being manipulated. They’re looking for anyone to blame except the child they loved and it’s very easy to morph sorrow into anger.

This time, I’m taking a wait and see attitude rather than jumping to the stereotypical conclusions.

This time, I’m going to let the investigation proceed before forming an opinion.

This time, I’m going to search my soul and empathize with the families who have lost loved ones because that could be me, or you, or anyone.

I hear what you are saying, and agree we need to let this investigation play out.

I think why many are upset here, is because of liberal racial biases that we are supposed to make excuses for ghetto culture and the bad choices these young men made.

In the Brown case, I agree with you to the extent that, the penalty for shoplifting or petty crime, is not to be shot by the police. I too withhold judgement as we wait for the official investigation into this police shooting.

I can empathize with families who have “bad seeds”. But it seems that the ghetto culture spawns many more such people than do middle class families.
