Same feral population will be bitching 3 years from now that they don’t have decent places to shop. Add that to the mass flight of the tax paying law abiding folks, and the north side of St. Louis is going to look like Detroit in no time.
All joking aside, you’re right. Ferguson will be a community in decline after this. The businesses that have been destroyed will take their insurance money and either go out of business or rebuild in safer areas. That in turn will screw up the tax base in the city, etc. until you have something resembling Detroit. It’s sad, but by no means unavoidable.
