AUSTIN, Texas -- In light of the malicious prosecution of Governor Rick Perry, Republican lawmakers are rushing to jump on the bandwagon opposing the Democrats politically motivated action. But several House Republicans loyal to liberal House Speaker, Joe Straus, bear responsibility for setting the stage leading to the indictments.

By the way, look at our wonderful DA, and tell why you would not want her gone.

Texas Ping.
When you’ve got a DWI in a powerful public position, you’re already severely compromised and people can use you for bribes or other corruption. Alternatively, your thoughts of vengeance, payback and/or CYA just might be working overtime.

P.S. Did she ever have the choppadickoffofme operation?
DA Lushberg in all her boozy glory.
She went to jail for three months. Was she given paid leave?
perry has problems (he called people heartless for opposing in state tuition for illegals, and he called hillary a good secretary pof state) but on this one he DID do something courageous and right in vetoing the money for this drunk democrat DA.
I agree with you, Cubs Fan.
I don’t believe government officials receive pay while jail. Did you see they tied her to a special wheelchair, it’s a hoot. There is also a drunken moonwalk video it is really special.
I saw the video. But I’d bet $5 Austin gave her paid leave because she did not resign or get fired. But I’m prejudiced.
Any bets on a bill to end the unit this leg session?
She went to jail for three months.

She was sentenced to 45 days and served 1/2 the time.
I don’t about the wage part.
RE: Special Persecutor
SAN ANTONIO One of San Antonio’s best-known defense attorneys was accused by the Bexar County district attorney’s office this week of instructing a subpoenaed witness to get lost for awhile to avoid testifying in his client’s intoxication manslaughter trial.
Prosecutors filed a motion Tuesday for a finding of contempt against former federal prosecutor Mike McCrum related to his alleged instructions to Melanie Little, a witness in the October trial of Taylor Rae Rosenbusch.
Sorry, here is the link:
The officers appeared to have cut her an abundance of slack (30 minutes of sobering up before the DWI specialist arrives, then he coaches her through the whole thing even after MULTIPLE fails and refusals).
There’s around 10 minutes of discussion between her and one of the officers about who they both may know.
There was also a bit of radio chatter trying to confirm her story that she WAS the District Attorney.
Police don’t HAVE one hour to speend on suspected DWI traffic stops. Impound the car (there was some suspicion from a separate phone report that a car possibly matching the description of hers had sideswipes a car) and give her the field sobriety test.
When she arrived at the station was when she tranformed into “bridezilla” DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? I’M A DEMOCRAT! I’m DA! CALL SO-AND-SO! Pointing gun fingers at people and who know what.
