Seems to me that Wilson was trying hard to wound but not kill Brown, aiming at his arm at first.

Don't know many details, but from what I read, the cop had been punched while Brown was trying to grab the gun. The cop could have been a bit woozy from being punched, hence the off-center shots.

Looks to me like he was breaking his grip to the left thus hitting to the targets right.

Shots in the arm at close range would give credence to the testimony that the officer was being attacked inside his vehicle.
