In my capacity as the forensic examiner for the New York State Police, I would say, ‘You’re not supposed to shoot so many times,’ ” said Dr. Baden

In my capacity as someone with a brain I would say that Dr. Baden should stick to the facts. He has no authority to say how many times someone should be shot.

If someone is charging me I’ll shoot as many times as necessary to stop them up to the magazine being empty. Because if I fail to stop them at least when they get my gun it won’t have any bullets in it. They’ll have to beat me to death with the gun at that point. But at least I’ll have a better chance of surviving than if I leave bullets in the gun.

Baden said the two head shots were likely the last two shots fired. He did the autopsy.

Gee what oh what will Holder do now since he wants his own Autopsy expert to do one

In my fantasy world, a certain Medical Examiner would get the nod:

I just hope Holder ends up with egg on his face, the jerk.

This information is not good for the Scheme Team MkII.

These people lied and stirred up their community to the point that it incited riots.

The Democrats tried to use their tragedy to anger and motivate the black community to make this into winner for them in the upcoming election

I hope this backfires on the scumbags who have driven this situation to where it is today.

The shots match a charging suspect, with the last two shots hitting the head as he fell.

Crump will say Brown’s head was bowed in surrender, of course.

The very fact that he turned and charged the officer argues in favor of his having drugs or alcohol in his system. Brown knew the officer had a gun. By the most likely true acct, they had scuffled over it, and it had already discharged once. So now Brown is out of the car and running down the street. If he is perfectly sober and worried about being shot at, he could drop to the street and lie still. Unless the officer is a homicidal maniac, that should do it.

If he wasn’t concerned about being shot, he could have just kept running. Sure, they’d have caught up to him eventually, but he’d have no evidence on him at that point, and he could hope for a light sentence, maybe even limited to parole.

But to circle back toward the business end of a gun—and that most likely in the hands of a person he’s already assaulted—that takes more than stupidity. That indicates at least one foreign substance in his system, seriously clouding his judgment.

We can only hope an honest, accurate toxicology report is released ASAP. It could clear up a lot of questions.

Dr. Baden provided a diagram of the entry wounds, and noted that the six shots produced numerous wounds. Some of the bullets entered and exited several times, including one that left at least five different wounds.

Hmmm. Seems like the Laws of Physics were suspended for a bit. Or am I missing something obvious?

Yes, the head shots were almost certainly the last ones. But it doesn’t seem to provide proof that Brown was moving at the time. It seems consistent with both a charging Brown and one who stopped and lowered his head - although the exact angle might tell a story, since Brown was 6’4”.

I’m pretty confident Brown was charging and was shot multiple times doing so. And if charges are ever brought against the cop, then the burden of proof will be on the prosecutor to show, beyond a reasonable doubt, Brown was not charging.

As for the Baden criticizing the number of shots, I’d say Baden has never been in combat, nor has he ever been shot at and needed to shoot back. If you’ve ever needed to defend yourself for real, instead of on TV, then you would know you don’t stop shooting until the other fellow stops everything.

Exactly, sounds like MB was doped. And a lot more than just pot, sort of reminds me of one of the death wish movies. Or people might act like MB if they’re suicidal which doesn’t really fit this case. He must have thought he was invincible. Still, I don’t care how young, 300 lbs is a lot to carry.

Probably bullets fragmenting upon hitting bone and making multiple exits wounds.

No i don’t. Largely because that’s not how cops are trained. Cops are trained to fire at the center of mass until the threat is neutralized. It is consistent with somebody who was running at a police officer, and the cop is trying to hit a moving target. It was more instinctual shooting than aimed shots IMO.

I’m curious about the one in the forearm and the one in the thumb. Most people do not hold their arms in the manner the diagram is laid out. (palms out to the front)

the “front” of the arms in the diagram, and the palms of the hands are actually in towards the body when standing upright or walking.

How he got that one in the thumb. That one doesn’t seem to rule out “hands up”... except that it looks like it grazed him there at a weird angle.

I also wonder how he got the one in the top of the head presumable after he got one in the eye. I doubt he was charging the cop after being shot in the eye. Could that be the last few shots fired quickly?

Which again shows he wasn't just standing there with his hands in the air or else there would be one wound for each bullet. He was rushing him...bullets hit his outstretched arms and went from there...

Just heard a bit that St. Louis is a place that has had a lot of PCP usage. Maybe.

Agree Brown doesn’t seem like the suicidal type. Also agree that alcohol is not as likely as drugs...perhaps, as you mentioned, PCP. Not only was Brown’s judgment fundamentally impaired, but it appears he had little reaction to pain. Certain drugs can have that effect.

We just have to hope the toxicology report is as accurate as possible. It’s critical in this case.

Broad daylight... So it would have been okay if he’d shot him at night? Crump is always blurting out stuff that he thinks sounds good, but makes absolutely no sense at all. That quote’s an example.

Theres a video i’ve seen of a shootout at a traffic stop gone bad where the cop and bad guy blaze away at less then 10 feet, both empty their guns and not one hit.
And thats not that uncommon.

Naw. St Mike had his head bowed in prayer.
