Perry could well have been the next president of the US. Even if this gets thrown out the dems and the RINO establishment will still use this indictment to try to destroy him politically. The only way Perry will not be destroyed by this is if the DA herself is indicted for abusing her power for the purpose of retribution against Perry's veto. The Grand Jury apparently bears complicity as well.
