Yes, I understand the concepts of aerial interdiction and close air support. I’m not convinced that the Obama Administration has a strategic goal in Iraq. Bombing just to show video clips of trucks blowing up is not a strategic goal.
The purpose of killing in war is to achieve a strategic goal as part of a plan to make the other side give up. Look at Libya. What did Obama’s bombing accomplish there? What strategic goal did he have?
Obama has no military experience. He is not prepared to be the American Commander In Chief. As far as I can see, he has made no effort to learn that job. Perhaps we should elect people to the US Presidency who have some experience with the military or at least are willing to learn.
There is a cost to waging war. I haven’t even written about the cost to our military members and their families or the cost to the US Taxpayers.
The harsh reality is that there needs to be a positive Return On Investment if we are going to wage war. Killing people just to have some video to get the press off of Obama’s back is cruel and childish on his part.

I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying. Spot on.

Obama has no clue about leadership on any plane.. but once given the “go,” despite th narrow scope of the operation, our military guys have once again done an outstanding job. The one entity that I trust - the peshmerga - said the air support has been greatly helpful, and they’ve been able to leverage that support to make gains on the ground. Obama deserves no praise for the turning back of the IS, but our military does.
