Jeb Bush is lending his political star power to embattled Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who is locked in a tight race for re-election in the nation's largest swing-voting state.

Speaking at a metals factory in this South Florida farming community, the former Florida governor and potential White House hopeful on Friday credited Scott with the state's economic recovery, saying the incumbent Republican had created a "field of dreams" for Floridians looking to prosper after the recession. He also criticized Scott's likely Democratic opponent, Charlie Crist, as a craven opportunist.

Bush said Crist, a former Republican governor who switched parties in 2012, "woke up each and every day, as he does today, focused on his ambitions rather than having a servant's heart."

For Scott, the stop infused energy into a campaign that has sometimes struggled to connect with voters. Seven years after leaving office, Bush remains one of the most popular politicians in Florida and a revered figure among many Republican voters, who will be critical to Scott's chances in November.

Just as long as he doesn't get a wild hair up his ass that this means he should run for President, all well and good.

But, as far as other ambitions go:

No More Bushes

If it means defeating Charley I am all for it. As said above though don’t even think of running for President.

After watching the last Bush allow what he did on his watch, I’m not real anxious to see another Bush in the White House... EVER!

With Jebbie’s son to become the TX land commissioner in January 2015, why wouldn’t Jebbie think of running for president? He’s just waiting for Barbara to approve formally.

That and the continuing festering border. You had the economy slipping into the toilet, and he really took a pass on confronting it head on also.

Obama made things even worse, but Bush really made a terrible hand-off.

Look, I know the Democrats (and even some Republicans) moved the mortgage crisis along, but Bush had the bully pulpit and took a complete pass on standing up to them.

I fault him for that.

Jeb Bush was a great governor of the state of Florida. It boggles my mind that Charlie Crist might become governor again.
