I kind of figured it was something to this effect. If so I believe the officer did the right thing.
It almost sounds like Brown wanted to be killed.

.... So he goes in reverse back to them. Tries to get out of his car. They slam his door shut violently...
Clearly he is too close to the suspects at this point.
Is this police protocol for how to approach a robber?
